SoftGamings set to launch in Greece
In 2020, Greece imposed many new and different changes in its regulations and rules, as it started to allow only providers who carry a licence to operate in the local market.
In October of 2019, the Greek parliament passed some gambling laws as the country’s Ministry of Finance published the draft of these new rules with the changes to the European Commission for its approval. Nonetheless, towards the end of 2020, the HGC, or Hellenic Gaming Commission, had already begun to accept applications submitted for the acquisition of licences.
SoftGamings has handed over an application for a Manufacturer A1 Suitability licence so that it can widen its geographical footprint and offer its services in the Mediterranean country.
Once their submission gets accepted, SoftGamings will have the opportunity to provide its entire collection of products to the region’s licenced gaming operators. The company is extremely thrilled to do this, since it sees Greece as a fun market that is full of opportunity.
Director of partnerships at SoftGamings Irina Sazonova said:
Starting the licensing procedure with the HGC is a huge achievement for SoftGamings. After all, the Hellenic Gaming Commission is a highly-regarded regulator with strict standards. Its members make sure that all gambling activities in Greece are well-organized and carried out with maximum transparency and fairness. Moreover, the HGC ensures that all illegal gambling operations are prevented, providing maximum safety to operators and consumers alike.
SoftGamings shares the high standards of HGC and we strive to reaffirm the quality of our products and services. The Greek market has experienced significant growth in online gaming over recent years, and becoming a licensed Greek provider would be a valuable milestone to open up new opportunities. Our company is hoping to get the Greece license and look forward to entering the Greek market.
