Catena Media launched sports betting successfully in the regulated US market. The affiliate website, which covers markets in Malta, mentioned that data speak to their favour.
The media company states that there has been a significant boost in engagement levels which is far ahead of the figures they had when they first started off in 2022.
Ryan Harper stated:
“This is definitely a very successful start of betting on a state level. We’re extremely happy to see the significant surge in traffic and engagement after starting out as a licensed bookie in Ohio.”
The Catena affiliate program represents its 4 brands and playohio.com website which highlights all the necessary information, including recent news and updates on gambling topics in Ohio.
The affiliate program partners with affiliates to promote the following brands:
Catena hit a growth rate of 33% starting from 2021 covering more than 20 regulated territories in North America. The income the affiliate program has generated reaches €80m which is equivalent to 71m in pounds and 86m in dollars.
Ohio enters betting regulated markets
The state of Ohio is the sixth one to enter betting-regulated markets after five other states. The agreement was made in December 2022, and then the law entered into force on January 1 of this year, legalizing betting both in online and retail casinos. After the law was passed, some outstanding regional operators, European firms, as well as startups managed to gain the betting license on that same day.
Carnegie Bank will help sell Catena
Carnegie has recently become Catena’s financial advisor and will help the affiliate program sell some businesses. The establishment will support in running negotiations with third-party firms that have demonstrated interest in obtaining some company assets. For example, last month Catena sold its flagship brand AskGambkers for €45.0m. The reason behind offloading some European brands is the plans Catena pursues to concentrate on North American markets. As a result of all these undertakings, the company had to lay off 25% of the European staff.
