New York records latest high in sports betting revenue
The state of New York has recently set a new record for its online sports wagering revenue.
Setting a new record for the second consecutive month, the sports betting industry’s online vertical has proven to be quite profitable for the state, generating over 145 million dollars in the month of October. That figure is just over 2 million more than the previous month’s 143 million dollars, making for a 1.6% increase.
Additionally, the amount spent by players increased as well, though by a much wider 22% margin. The resulting figure of over 1.5 billion dollars is the highest New Yorkers have spent on the pastime in the previous half a year.
Out of all the operators in the state, the top five accounted for over 142 million dollars of the state’s revenue, with FanDuel leading the way with over 76 million dollars generated from over 600 million dollars of player spending.
Up next was DraftKings, making over 41 million from over 525 million dollars worth of wagers. Lastly, BetMGM finalized the top three, making about 8 million dollars from 105 million dollars of bets.
