Spelinspektionen enhances international ties with UK visit
Spelinspektionen has recently visited the United Kingdom as part of its efforts to strengthen its international collaborations.
As part of its recent visit, the Swedish gambling regulatory authority visited the UKGC to exchange knowledge and experiences with the British regulator. The trip particularly focused on the prevention of sports integrity problems, with the UKGC showcasing its efforts towards fighting against these issues, which includes the regulator’s national analysis platform.
The Spelinspektionen mentioned that the two authorities also engaged in discussions about countering illegal gambling, with one of their main topics of focus being the UKGC’s implementation of the changes proposed by the United Kingdom’s gambling legislation white paper, which was introduced a few months ago. As part of these discussions, the Spelinspektionen also presented its experiences with implementing a variety of responsible gambling initiatives, such as deposit limits.
Lastly, the Swedish authority also visited sports technology firm Sportradar, which specializes in data collection for a wide collection of worldwide sports, as part of its efforts toward countering sports integrity problems in Sweden. The provider showcased the worldwide trends of sports integrity issues to the regulator, with a particular focus on the sports market of Sweden.
