Betmaster handed blocking order by Spelinspektionen
Spelinspektionen has revealed that it has issued Reinvent, the operator behind Bongo and Betmaster, a cease-and-desist order. The operator is licenced in Curaçao, and the regulator ruled that it had been aiming for Swedish clients while it does not have a licence to operate in the region.
Spelinspektionen undertook an examination of both the operator’s sites (Bongo and Betmaster) and came to the conclusion that they were both targeting Swedish players through their marketing strategies, as well as using information on the site written in Swedish. Aside from that, Bongo also provided withdrawals, prizes and deposits in the local currency.
Moreover, the Swedish regulator also discovered that the two websites did not put in any effort into stopping Swedish players from creating accounts on the sites. Even though the operator was allowed to issue a statement on the matter, the regulator revealed that it had not obtained a reply.
This operator is now the 19th operator that has been blocked by the Swedish regulator. Some of the others who have been blocked include 1xBet, which is one of the 10 operators who obtained the same order back in July of last year.
What this order means is that if Reinvent does not manage to withdraw from the Swedish market, it will be fined. If it fails to leave the market even after paying the fine, Spelinspektionen will be handing matters over to the country’s police.
