Netbet Ent has secured a certification to run in the regulated Greek market.

NetBet’s Chief Executive Gabriela Arnautu stated:

“We are thrilled to be granted the Hellenic Gaming Commission (HGC) 2 official licenses to have the legal ground to expand in the regulated Greek market.”

Last year, the Greek licensing authorities came up with two types of licenses for operators; an online betting license and a gaming license. NetBet was granted with both types of Hellenic licenses.

Nevertheless, Greece’s gaming regulator had previously almost banned random number generator (RNG) games altogether, but eventually it settled on keeping the RNG titles legal, but only in the presence of certain regulations.

The regulations for random number generated games stood at the price per spin being 2 euros, as well as a minimum 3 second wait in-between each spin.

NetBet’s obtaining of a Greek gaming license joined an existing trend of sorts after operators such as Betsson, Playson and others obtaining similar licenses by the Hellenic Gaming Commission.
