Aristocrat is suing Light & Wonder for a knockoff
An Australian company that makes slot machines is saying that a Las Vegas company copied one of its popular games.
They sued the Las Vegas corporation, demanding that they stop selling the game that was pirated and reimburse them for their losses. Aristocrat Technologies Inc., an Australian firm, claims that Light & Wonder, a Las Vegas company, created games that resembled its Dragon Link and Lightning Link games. They assert that previous workers on these games are currently employed by Light & Wonder and contributed to the development of their most recent game, Dragon Train.
Dragon Link, according to Aristocrat, is incredibly popular and contains elements that Light & Wonder attempted to imitate. In addition to demanding payment for any earnings generated from the game, they are requesting a court injunction to prevent Light & Wonder from selling it.
Light & Wonder refutes the allegations, claiming that their creation, Dragon Train, is the product of their own labors and inventive ideas. They claim that Aristocrat is attempting to prevent them from unfairly marketing their game.
Gloria Navarro, the NV U.S. District Judge, is hearing the case.
