Laughlin Casino faces $500K fine for security incidents
A potential penalty of $500,000 is being considered by the Nevada Gaming Commission for a Laughlin casino.
Two fights involving the security personnel at the casino occurred, but the casino chose not to disclose them. An employee at a casino got into a brawl with security after being wrongly suspected of using marijuana in one occasion. Another had a patron getting ejected from the casino and suffering injuries. It is against the regulations for the gambling establishment to have kept these instances a secret.
When asked to leave during the first incident, a client who was playing slot machines refused to go. The consumer was injured in the altercation with security.
An employee of the casino was charged with using marijuana at work in the second incident. Security didn’t buy their denials. A fight broke out when security refused to let the employee go.
Arrest warrants were issued by the court for the security officers who were part of the first incident. In the second instance, it was discovered that a different Las Vegas institution lacked the funds necessary to distribute prizes from slot machines. In addition to being punished, the owner’s casino license was revoked.
All things considered, the Laughlin casino broke the law and is currently facing a hefty punishment. The other establishment in Las Vegas was likewise fined for not having sufficient funds to distribute rewards.
