Catena Media’s board has officially announced the promotion of North America VP Michael Daly to the position of Chief Executive. This promotion is set to come into effect on the 1st of March 2021. Daly is based in Las Vegas and has lead Catena’s publishing and growth strategy since 2018 for the US wagering market.

Before becoming a member of Catena, Daly was in charge of supervising the North American business units of GAN Plc from 2015 up until 2018, which is essentially a provider of turnkey services and an iGaming platform listed on Nasdaq.

Daly said:

It has been exciting working with Catena Media’s US growth engine these last few years. And now the opportunity to work directly with all our global teams is even more exhilarating, as it is a much bigger growth engine.

This recruitment sees Göran Blomberg, who currently holds the role of Interim CEO, go back to his initial role as Chairman of the Board. Öystein Engebretsen, the current governance lead, will also be taking on his former position as executive director. The affiliate publisher made some brief alterations to its board after the previous CEO, Per Hellberg, announced his departure during the last quarter of 2020.

Blomberg further commented saying:

I have great trust and confidence in Michael as new CEO of the company. He is a true leader with a deep knowledge of the company as well as the business. His achievement in developing the US market speaks for itself and I am convinced he is the right person to take Catena into the next development phase.
