America’s relationship with online gambling
Many states all across the USA have legalized online gambling, hence why many Americans are starting to see the benefits of the online gambling industry.
The sports betting framework is always changing and improving when it comes to rules and regulations. The last election saw three states place measures on the ballot to legalize sports betting and included Louisiana, Maryland and South Dakota. They each voted in favor of these measures.
According to the American Gaming Association (AGC), as of now there are 19 states that actively permit sports betting services and operations. Another six states including Louisiana, Maryland and South Dakota have authorized legal sports betting, but they have not begun operations yet.
Aside from the election results, significant growth in the use of mobile phones is yet another crucial factor that has surely contributed to the expansion and improvement of the online betting market. This is mostly because of the fact that users can now easily access data by having access to a simple provided interface.
Generally, it’s clear that a positive change in attitude towards online gambling services can be noticed across many different ranges.
According to a survey published by the AGC, 69% of Americans are able to agree that gaming contributes positively to the U.S economy. Moreover, 63% of the population agrees that the industry offers jobs of high quality. Furthermore, 76% are aware of the importance of tax generated through this industry and how it will be of more importance to state and local governments during these time because of the COVID-19 related budget insufficiency.
