Michigan starts education program on unregulated gaming
The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB), which provides oversight of the gaming industry together with Michigan Liquor Control Commission (MLCC) initiated an education program within the state with the aim to promote entities to renounce unregulated machines utilized in illegal gambling.
The two partner institutions provide knowledge and awareness for illegal gaming and its consequences. They will deliver information to businesses and the public about Michigan’s legal entities to ensure that it will counteract the deceptive information about illegal gambling via unregulated machines.
The head of the Gaming Control Board, Henry Williams, noted:
“Illegal gaming can result in a more serious crime which contains danger for the state residents. They can’t do much when being cheated while utilizing unregulated machines. They can’t open an official dispute with the unregulated operator and apply to us for reviewing the outcome of the dispute which they are able to do while utilizing regulated machines”.
Michigan Liquor Control Commission president, Pat Gagliardi, stated:
“Our commission finds illegal gaming a serious breach, and we can sanction the operators with penalties, suspension or even cancellation of license. Liquor licensees are supported to be used only in legal gaming according to our rules”.
Generally, according to the legislation of Michigan, any kind of gaming is banned if it does not have permission by the state law.
Attorney general Dana Nessel remarked:
“Gambling regulating legislation is formed to protect gamblers. My office is here to support MGCB and MLCC in their mission. We ensure to punish entities who break the law and continue to use illegal gambling machines”.
