The gambling sector of Massachusetts made a bit over 140 million dollars in revenue in September 2023.

The state’s regulatory authority started its latest monthly analysis by highlighting the performance of the state’s land-based operators, which generated just over 90 million dollars in revenue in the month of September. When compared to the retail sector’s performance in the same month last year and in August, it experienced declines of around 4 million dollars and 8 million dollars respectively.

The state’s online gambling operators, on the other hand, generated just under 50 million dollars in revenue. This was more than double the online vertical’s generated revenue in the preceding month, which was recorded at less than 23 million dollars. This increase enabled the gambling industry of Massachusetts to record an around 20 million-dollar increase in its total revenue in September when compared to the previous month.

The MGC also reported the local gambling industry’s generated taxes in the month, which was recorded at around 35.7 million dollars, up from 32.2 million dollars in August. Since the inception of the regulated gambling market in Massachusetts, local industry firms have contributed a total of more than 1.54 billion dollars in taxes.
