A new event has been added to the AFFA 2016 calendar, with a public screening to be held on Monday 29th August at ACMI (The Australian Centre for the Moving Image). The screening event is part of the Melbourne Spring Fashion Week (MSFW) program which runs from August 26th to September 2nd.
The event gives fashion and film lovers an opportunity to see films from both Australian and International brands. After the screening the public will be invited to vote for their favourite for the People’s Choice Award. Last year, RUSSH magazine took out the award for their film ‘Phoenix Rising’, directed by Gracie Otto, which starred well-known Australian talent, Abbey Lee.
The categories for this year’s awards include; Best Director, Best Concept, Best Fashion Styling, Best Hair, Best Makeup, Best Sound Design, Best Visual Effects, Best Independent Production, Best Australian Fashion Film, Best International Fashion Film, People’s Choice Award, and Best Emerging Label Film.
Among the official judging panel for AFFA 2016 is ACMI’s own CEO, Katrina Sedgwick, who has extensive experience as a performer, creative producer and festival director.
