Following the immense success of the inaugural 2015 Australian Fashion Film Awards (AFFA), that saw the star-studded industry judging panel award the famed Australian Baz Luhrmann the top prize – Best Director for his acclaimed film for Chanel “The One That I want”, at a lavish awards ceremony event attended by Australia’s who’s who of the fashion and entertainment industries. Lurhmann’s wife and Australia’s most famous costume designer, Catherine Martin, took home the awards for Best Fashion Styling for the same film.
Other notable winners included Country Road for Best Australian Fashion Film “Summer Wonder” featuring model Gemma Ward. Russh Magazine and Woolmark Company were also among the finalists taking home a prize. For full list of winners and judges visit – www.affawards.org
AFFA’s founder and creative director, Anastasia Fai (Telstra Business Woman of the Year finalist) says – “Fashion Film is one of the most exciting genres of film-making today and is ever evolving, with the medium increasingly influencing and transforming the landscape in which fashion is experienced.”
The initiative was supported by corporate heavyweights including Qantas who screened a selection of AFFA finalist in the inflight entertainment internationally. Westfield Sydney not only supported the event as a major partner, but also embraced the concept by collaborating with one of the winning directors to produce their own fashion film.
